The exhibition, which takes place from May 19 to November 1, 2021, will bring together around a hundred paintings, drawings and prints to illustrate the representation of the garden by the Impressionist and Nabis painters, and will focus on revealing, in a way quite unique, a sensitivity to the garden, between personal emotion and seclusion.
The route will be thematic and chronological, offering sections on space, silences, games, the lush garden, the walled garden and the return to Impressionism.
Curator: Cyrille Sciama, Director General of the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny, and Mathias Chivot, Nabis specialist and co-author of Édouard Vuillard’s catalog raisonné
This exhibition is organized with the exceptional support of the Musée d’Orsay.
