Beauty in Giverny... it's also at La Réserve!
It's hard to come back to earth after our stay at La Réserve! It took me a week to write this comment because I'm still looking for something original to say that goes beyond the classic banalities... but I can't find anything other than "dream place, green setting, hosts for whom the word "hospitality" is not an abstract notion, generosity, abundance etc.". Go to La Réserve! You will be transported into the world of Valérie and François, outside of time and the hustle and bustle of life! We were there for my Mom's birthday. Picture perfect stay in the French countryside
A group of 4 of us had a magnificent stay at La Reserve this October. The house, the interiors, the food, the rooms, the grounds - it was all incredible and so perfectly French. And Valerie, the owner, was an absolute pleasure! She has created an incredible oasis, which was the perfect end to our trip after busy Paris. My daughter is 8 and loved the animals and the playground. We also had 2 older ladies with us and they were very comfortable in the main floor room which is accessible. I highly recommend ordering a board one night too - the most beautiful presentation and so delicious! Elegant and Comfortable
I enjoyed my stay at La Reserve very much and highly recommend it. The hosts are warm and welcoming and the home is completely charming with beautiful open grounds and several friendly donkeys next door. The décor is both elegant and comfortable, really like a magazine! In the morning they served a scrumptious breakfast with charcuterie, cheese, fruit, yogurt and of course bread and croissants. I stayed a couple of nights and would notice new interesting details each time I left and came back to the house. It is very convenient for visiting Giverny and I also enjoyed seeing Vernon. Going there without reservation is exceptional, so rare in France!

Special Stay in Giverny
What an experience! Beautiful estate in the quiet countryside ten minutes from Monet. Gorgeous property. The rooms were superbly appointed, and Valerie was a superb hostess. The breakfast was fantastic, and she arranged a special board for our wedding anniversary. This included a lovely Bordeaux blend and a table on the back lawn. Magnifique! Paradise in Giverny
Our visit to La Reserve was very short- we arrived late and had to leave very early. We would like to extend our grand Merci to Madame Jouyet for her hospitality, kindness, and caring. She did everything to accommodate our short stay: waited for us, made sure we felt comfortable, and even prepared breakfast to go the following morning. The house and the surrounding area are simply magnificent, I wish we could stay there for a couple of days, at least. The house itself has so much charm, authenticity, and style. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom in our room was spacious and modern with some antique pieces that add to the exquisite feel of the room we stayed in. The garden is immense, I wish we had more time to walk there. La Reserve is a bit off the path, but easy to find during the day time. We would love to return. A dream place and welcome
A dream place and welcome. Very large rooms decorated with passion and an exceptional breakfast in the morning (different breads and pastries, fresh fruit salad, yogurts, cheese, cold meats, wedding teas, American coffees or Nespresso, etc.) A magnificent orchard where you can relax, read and play pétanque. relaxing and peaceful stay in a rural location
valerie is the most wonderful welcoming host and her family home is spacious and comfortable in a peaceful location. we were looked after perfectly and had the most delicious breakfast so beautifully presented. I could have stayed at La Reserve forever!
This is an exceptionally lovely property in Giverney, minutes from Monet's home and gardens. The owners welcomed us and made us feel like family. Our room was extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated with windows that opened out to the apple orchard. We stayed in the "Portrait Room" on the first floor at the end of the house. The large bathroom had a wonderful large shower. The owners prepared a fabulous breakfast each morning with everything we could have wanted , pastries, juice, eggs, meats, cheese. Beautiful and idyllic guesthouse experience
La Reserve Giverny is possibly the best place I have ever stayed. The location is gorgeous, with huge beautiful grounds and many quiet places to settle down with a drink or a book, and the room we stayed in was spacious, bright, and clean. The whole house is decorated with such character and feels instantly welcoming, and when we arrived we were greeted with cider and pound cake. The breakfast, as well, is a big highlight, with an enormous spread of pastries, cereals, cheese, eggs, fruit, and drinks. Valérie, the owner and host, is kind and friendly, and was always incredibly responsive to any requests we had and a delight to chat with. I would absolutely stay here again and would 100% recommend it to anyone - it's about a ten minute drive to the center of Giverny and a fifteen minute drive to the neighboring town of Vernon, and was a great home base for exploring the area.
